TCM ALERT: 6 Nina Foch Movies Tonight starting at 8 pm

Tonight (Saturday, October 22) TCM will present six movies starring actress Nina Foch. She became well known to current TV fans as Ducky's mother on NCIS. Foch stole both episodes while appearing as Victoria Mallard, a woman of social standing who had a sharp tongue. However, Foch was not only a talented actress, but a film  instructor at USC. In addition, she was a highly respected acting coach and stage director.  I have been a fan of hers for many years, so I am thrilled to see her films highlighted tonight.

Here's tonight's lineup on TCM:
8 PM -- An American in Paris (1951)
10 PM -- Illegal (1955)
11:45 PM -- My Name is Julia Ross (1945)
1 AM -- Cry of the Werewolf (1944)
2:15 AM -- Executive Suite (1954)
4:15 AM -- I Love a Mystery (1945)

I have not had the opportunity to view Illegal, Cry of the Werewolf, or  My Name is Julia Ross. I always love to see an old film that's new to me! My only wish is that since it is Halloween season, TCM would have included Return of the Vampire (1944) costarring Bela Lugosi. If you get the chance to watch this film, you will see what poise and star quality Nina Foch at an early age. In addition, she elevates a movie that could have been camp into a nice dramatic thriller. Her death in 2008 has left a void that I doubt can be filled by today's crop of actresses.
