This Weekend at Loew's Landmark Jersey Theatre

Each month (September through June), Loews Landmark Jersey Theatre in Jersey City. NJ has a themed weekend. This weekend's theme is "Honoring 100 Years of Paramount Pictues." I must admit, David and I are only interested in one film. However, it is a great one, Double Indemnity. This film is truly one of the greatest film noirs of all time. I am so excited to see Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray, and Edward G. Robinson on that 50 foot screen!

The other two films this weekend are: Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Psycho. I'm not a huge fan of either of these films. I'm sure a number of people would disagree with me, but I was a little disappointed with these two choices. However, Loew's is very eclectic and many will enjoy these films. I guess I was selfishly hoping for Shanghai Express or Midnight! If you live in the NYC area or North Jersey, here's the link so you can get more information!

I went to see Ferris Bueller when I was a teenager--wow! Of the three, I have to agree Double Indemnity is the best...right down the line. Oh, that horrid wig. Have fun!

Awesome!! I would love to see, Double Indemnity on the "big" screen. I dunno.. if I could handle watching the classic film, Psycho on the "big" screen. I do not think I could ever sleep again :)

Tracy, I saw on FB that you guys had a great time with Double Indemnity. Now, I would LOVE to see Psycho on the big screen -- I love that movie! However, Ferris Bueller's Day Off seems an odd choice, to say the least. It's a cute movie, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

Kim: I too remember Ferris Bueller from my younger days. It's good, not great. Thanks for commenting.
Dawn: It is always cool to watch a classic on the big screen. Hope you get to see one in your area.
Becky: Welcome back! We passed on Psycho because it's not a particular favorite of mine or David's. However, the line was huge for its showing which means Hitchcock's still tha master of horror/suspense.

I'm with you on "Double Indemnity." Would love to see it on the big screen. I saw "Psycho" in a theater during one of its re-releases when I was young and it scared me to death (disrupting my shower-taking routine for a while).

Great news on this coast. Next Fri., Oakland's Art Deco jewel, the Paramount Theatre, will screen "Vertigo" (!). "Tootsie" coming in April and "Charade" in May. All part of an ongoing series, "Paramount Movie Classics."
