September is an interesting month for me. It marks the start of a new school year but the end of two months of vacation. It marks the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and memories of my school being in lockdown because of our proximity to Manhattan. September 11, 2012 was the day I couldn't wait to her my mother's voice saying she was safe and sound -- she was working in NYC at the time. In recent years, September means the start of a new season at Loews Landmark Jersey Theatre.
Next weekend Loews kicks off the new seaon with Sean Connery weekend. On Friday, September 28th,
Marnie will been shown at 8 pm. On Saturday, September 29th, there will be a Bond double feature. The show begins at 6 pm with
Dr. No and continues at 8: 30 pm with
Goldfinger. It's hard to believe that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise. It will be so cool to see
Dr. No, the movie that started it all on the big screen. In fact, I've never seen any of the Connery/Bond films on the big screen so I am very excited indeed for next weekend.

If you live in North Jersey or the NYC area, you've got to experience Loews for yourself. It is run by volunteers who love movies. There is an atmosphere that harkens back to when movie palaces were the centers of entertainment. David and I enjoy viewing at Loews more than anywhere else.
